Cautions on the Internet Shopping

Tips on buying on the internet

Watch out for sites that have advertising on the sides of the front page – Serious site just sell their products and not others.
Look for the owners of the site.  Usually and should be under “Contact Us”
           Their address
            Their telephone numbers
            Who to contact
If all they have is an email address – be very very cautious
And a Big Point: Do not feel bad about calling or sending an email or contacting them.  See the response you get.
Sometimes it is prudent to find another site.  You must feel comfortable with whom you are going to deal with to purchase that special product.

My Personal View

When I visit a site and I see across or the side – Special 90% off or some special; I become very mistrustful and vigilant.  Or they show some ridiculous shipping charges, when you know that shipping costs are expensive for that item; be disbelieving and guarded.  If there is a specific time frame for purchasing, my thought is that there must be a serious need of money; fast money.  And they are looking for me or you.
Why?  You are going to pay for it anyway, but the question then becomes, am I paying way too much?  I expect for each to make a profit, because that is how you stay in business.  If I were to make a sizable purchase, I would like to talk with somebody, preferably the owner or an officer of the company with policy decision making capabilities.
Ask questions of yourself; write the question down and then ask questions of the company you are thinking of doing business with and if there is hesitation or the answers are not readily available; move on.  There are a lot of businesses out there that would treat you with great respect for your business.
Another item that makes me leery is to see a lot of unrelated items on both sides on the page.  What are they selling?  They are probably getting advertising dollars from somebody else, not a bad idea, but then, what is their game.  The question then becomes; who is the customer, the commercial ads or you.  I prefer me.  That is why I will always have a clean site.  I do tell of my professional allegiances as applicable to the websites business. Why?  You are going to pay for it anyway, but the question then becomes, am I paying way too much.
These are just some of my thoughts, you can read them and heed or discard and if you have a different take, let me know and I will place it here for all to read and I will place it on my blogs.
